HI,
Three weeks ago I became very short of breath tobtge point that I felt asif I were going to pass out, soI went to the ER not knowing what was going on. When I got there my BP was 155/111. I am 29 and also a heavy smoker for years. They did an EKG which came back abnormal and decided to keep me overnight for close monitoring. The following day, I received another EKG and an Echocardiogram. The EKG came back abnormal again but everything else was fine. I was told to follow up with a cardiologist for further evaluation and then released. Ever since that day I have been having these random episodes of shortness of breath, but I noticed that it doesnt happen when im watching tv, reading or playing a game. I began to think it was just anxiety. I saw a doctor last week and he said that my EKG was abnormal because the left side of my heart was slightly enlarged due to the high BP. I was so focused on my heart that I forgot that I quit smoking. I looked up the symptoms and they include everything that im experiencing right now including insomnia, headaches and anxiety. Yesterday I noticed that I had indigestion. I took some alka seltzer and went to bed. Now today its still the same thing but I can feel it in my chest. I can hear it and its like a growling sound. Im scared because its in my chest and sometimes its a sharp pain underneath my left breast then other times its in the middle of my chest. But each time, I can hear the growling sound. I dont know if its just indigestion or if its my heart and I should go back to the hospital. Or maybe it has something to do with me quitting smoking? Im really scared and I dont want to ignore it if its something serious. All of my tests came back good. Nothing wrong with my lungs or heart. Am I overreacting or can a slightly enlarged heart cause problems that I should be concerned about? PLEASE HELP...
