Shivering, Nervousness From The Sight Of Food In Child. Prefers Junk Meals. What Can Be Done?

I have a three year old grandson that will not try different foods. He closes up and start shaking and get nervous and starts screaming, just putting foods in front of him. He will not even try it or touch it. He eats some healthy things, but will not try new foods he closes up. He eats lots of yogart, peanut butter sandwiches, bananas sometimes, loves muffins more than cookies and oatmeal. His peditrician put him on Breakfast Essentials in the morning for protein . He can not drink Ensure (Soy Milk) He has lots of energy, just want eat. What can we do? Do we need to see someone about this.

hello

thanks for writing to healthcare magic

you should not force feed this child..............rather show him example.......the whole family should sit together and eat.............and the adults should form a example by eating the right thing

its not that the child is infront of a TV and we try and force feed the child..........wrong

its not that a particular food should be consumed when offered...........if soy milk is rejected forget it and offer him similar foods which contain good protein etc

may be you may try the same food after some time

what is his height and weight

these are required to assess if he is having enough or not
avoid offering junk food........appetite improves for good ones

hope this helps

take care
