Sharpness In Chest, Rapid Twitching, Pain In Temple, Bad Headaches During Sleep. Cause?

The other night I was falling in and out of sleep and I suddenly woke up and felt something sharp against my chest. I looked down and there was nothing pressing against me .. suddenly I felt a very strong, rapid twitching (fasiculations) in my right temple. The next day I had probably one of the strongest headaches I've ever had.

What could have caused all this?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to HCM

Sudden awakening from sleep, sharp pain in chest, twitching sensation in temple along with headache occurred most likely due panic attack. But before proceeding to final diagnosis I would advise you to get yourself evaluated for any cardiac disease. Such symptoms may occur due to angina or Paroxysmal Nocturnal Dyspnoea. If everything come normal on cardiac evaluation then visit a Psychiatrist for opinion and treatment. Medicines like SSRI and SNRI are usually given for such symptoms. Apart from medicines Behavior Therapy is also useful for management.

Thanks
