Severe Throat Pain, Unable To Swallow. Had Phenagram, Codeine, Musinex. High Fever. Medication?
Went to the dr yesterday but he didn't do a throat culture, and my throat didn't hurt too much yet, said its a virus have me some phenagram (sp) and codeine cough medicine and I am taking musinex (sp#2)...
Last night and today fever has gotten much higher- averaging 102+- , and every time I fall asleep I wake up drenched w sweat... Like buckets of water were poured on me. I feel far worse than when I saw my doctor and my throat is so bad I actually can't swallow very well. Extremely painful and I feel like death. Should I be concerned or is this some cycle? If I went to like an er could they do something for me or no? Thanks so much

It suggests that you are suffering from the tonsillopharyngitis.
You are only on the supportive drug.
I personally advised to take the proper antibiotic course for this disease and if not improved then may also go for the throat swab, culture and antibiotic sensitivity.
Also go for the routine haematological investigations.
