Severe Itching On The Legs. Purple Bruises. Stopped Taking Lamictal. Is That The Reason?

About 8mos ago I had unexplained itching attacks on my legs that when scratched turned to purple bruises. The it began on my arms and now a little on my chest. My dermatologist said my skin is thin and scratching turned to bruises. The question is why am I itching? She said it may be medication so I went off my antidepressent Lamictal and it stopped for a while and cleared up about 2 months later I was put on Lamictal ODT because my Dr said it was a better formula. It happened again. I weaned off that and was given Cymbalta. My legs stopped itching but my arms got worse. I weaned off that and was put on Abilify and Doxepin ( which has an antihistamine) and I was good for 5 days. Now I am still itching around my upper arms and a little on my chest. All of this turns purple and eventually fades after 2 weeks but I look like I have leprosy! My skin is extremely dry also and moisturizing doesn't work and I drink lots of water. I do smoke and stay out of the sun. I heard something about lack of vitamin C. My doctors are clueless but say its not a debilitating disease and my blood tests are fine. I took a picture of it if there is a way to post. Hope you can help! Thank you.

Hi, You had itching on the legs and hands, stopped, lamectal, and got cleared 2 months latter. started again, and there is recurance. Now again stopped and started cymbalta, then abilify, and doxipen.
It, may be due to the pigment of the tablets, watch it and if it is same with all the tablets you can use other coloured tablets or white tablets.
If it is continuing still you must stop the tablets of that group of drugs as they may have cross sensitivity, and switch over to other group.
Thank you.
