hi my name is Ashley and i have had meningitis last November. i now have neuropathy and have severe headaches i have been in the emergency room twice in the last two days. i have been fed so many drugs just to make my headache bearable. is it a possibility that all of these are after effects of the meningitus? and how can i get a headache to settle with out all the drugs. they gave me 1 mg of daladid, that did nothing then i got a cocktail of toradol, fenergan, benadryl, and valium i am at my wits end any suggestions will be wonderful please and thank you

Meningitis can give rise to headache at any time. But, usually, if meningitis has recovered completely and it was not complicated, then it is unlikely.

But, meningitis can be associated with other neurological ailments which can give rise to headache not getting relieved with medication

Therefore, you need to consult a neurologist, do neuroimaging tests as advised by neurologist. Then the diagnosis and management would be appropriate

Thanks for your query. Headache usually subsides after settlement of meningitis. For more proper suggestion I would request you to give me the following information

2.     Exact side of the pain
3.     Is pain radiating from any other side?
Meanwhile you get done the following things
1.     B.P (hypotension or hypertension)
2.     Eyesight (error in near and far vision can cause headache)
Meanwhile you can take some mild tranquilizers omeprazole 0.5mg at bed time
Keep yourself busy and avoid excessive work on computer
