Severe Head, Nose And Chest Congestion With Sore Throat.Not Responding To Amoxicillin. On Qvar For Asthma. Can I Try Cephalexin?
Thank you. I have had severe congestion of head, nose and chest for over a month which all started with a sore throat=took a round of amoxicillin with no results except throat is no longer sore. What can I take to help with these symptoms? (Do have allergy/ asthma and use a Qvar inhaler 2xdly.) Is cephalexin a good choice?

Hi ,
amoxycillin and cephelexin have more or less same potency and same antibacterial activity.So better to take some other antibiotics like clarithromycin 500mg twice daily for 5 days along with loratidine 10mg at bed time will help.
