Severe cough. X-ray normal. TB?

hello doctor, i am having cough from last 10-15 days.. i asked my GP.. he gave me normal medicines for 2-3 days.. then it doesnt affected much.. lateron i did chest x-ray.. x ray was completely normal.. then after that he again my GP gave me some medicine and then i was completely alright.. now after 10 days again i started coughing. doctor kindly help me.. i am worried that if i will be having TB.. kindly tell me when are the testes to be done for TB checkup?

I wish you must have told about your age, smoking habbits if any.
Acute cough i.e cough lasting lesser than 3 weeks are usually viral in origin or due to super added bacterial infection. Pulmonary Tuberculosis should also be ruled out if there is cough for 2 weeks.
I think you must go for sputum for acid fast bacilli, gram staining, culture and sensitivity, routine microscopy. If these are normal then should go for a simple breath test called spirometry to look for asthma or obstructive lung disease.
The treatment depends on the diagnosis made, so visit pulmonologist in your area with the abovesaid investigation reports.
