Severe Congestion, Heavy Phlegm, Mild Cough, Mild Fever, Rash On Body That Disappeared Within A While. Any Suggestions?

been sick for about a week with congestion tons of flem in the lungs and a mild cough . In addition a mild fever came on the last couple days of this. Last night the fever broke completely and I felt fine but this morning I woke up with a rash over my body which went away after awhile. Then I took a nap later and the rash reappeared immdiatley taking longer to go away but eventually did. Any suggestions.

Thanks for writing your query.

Sometimes viral fever is associated with rashes. They will eventually disappear once you remain afebrile. Still medical examination is needed to rule out other causes of rash along with fever.

You should get following investigations :-
1. Complete Blood Count
2. Chest X-Ray (PA view)
3. Sputum examination

You can take antihistaminic like fenofexadine 120 mg once a day for cold and cough, paracetamol 500 mg for fever and antibiotic if needed, according to the reports of investigations.
Mucolytics like bromhexine or ambroxol can be added to release and cough out the sputum.
Steam inhalation will also help to cough out the sputum easily. Chest physiotherapy will also be beneficial for this.
You should take medicines only after getting yourself medically examined by a Physician.
