Severe Blackheads On Groin Area, Seem To Grow Out Of Follicles With Black Sheath At The Base Of Hair. What Could It Be?

i get a lot of blackheads in my groin (female, 29). basically my pubic area below the navel. they aren t infected or super huge, but they seem to grow out of follicles that have 2 hairs and what seems to be a black sheath type thing at the base of the hair. it doesn t horribly impact my life, but they are kind of gross.

Thanks for the query.

Probably you are suffering from a condition called as trichomycosis axillaris.

It is a bacterial infections and is seen along hair mainly in groin and axilla.

A photograph would have helped me in giving a closer diagnosis.

Treatment is with topical antibiotic cream.

Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
