Hello, darb,
If you have any strong family history of heart problems, high blood pressure
,
high cholesterol or
diabetes, we have to rule out impending
heart attack or
coronary heart disese with "Angina" which could lead to heart attack. If none
of these are present , you most likely have GERD (Gastro-esophageal-Reflux-Disease)
Avoid excess caffeine , don't drink alcohol , quit
smoking if you are one.
Avoid excess milk and cheese etc. because that can make the acid condition worse.
Prevacid is a good drug. The way you take it is important. If you have 15 mg. tablet
take one about an hour before breakfast and take the second dose about an hour
before your evening meal. Don't eat too late. There should be an hour and a half
between your meal and bed time.
Avoid fatty , fried foods and also very spicy foods.
Stay on the medication daily for 4-8 weeks. You should be better.
If the symptoms persist, you need to see a doctor. Look for clinics
run by doctors, usually retired, who treat patients for free.
I wish you well.
