Scratch On The Eyelid After Poking Hard And Blurry Vision With Pain
I was poked in the eye pretty hard on Friday night. My eye seemed to have closed right before the poke because I did have a small scratch on my eyelid. It hurt pretty bad, and my vision was fairly blurry out of that eye for the next 20 minutes. For the last three days my eye has felt like it is bruised. Doesn't feel like a corneal abrasion because the sensation that something is in it is not there, however there is a definitely a sensitivity to light, I've had slight headaches come and go, and overall my vision just feels a little off. What could this be? Do I really need to follow up with an opthamologist. Its just bad enough for me to be concerned but not overly bad where I feel like I need to rush to get seen. Thanks for the help!
Hello It seems from the history that you are having pain and blurring of vision following poking injury to eye. This indicates corneal epithelial defect as you are having sensitivity to light a sign of corneal injury. The treatment is by antibiotic eye drops and artificial tears. Analgesic tablets can be used for symptomatic relief from pain. Since corneal epithelial defect can become infected I advice you to take treatment under ophthalmologist supervision.
Thank you
