Scarred All Over Body, Periodically Seem To Swell And Bubble Up. Causes ?

Hello. I have noticed an issue with my skin that has brought me concern for a number of years. I am one of those people who zigged when he should have zagged. I do not know a spot on my body that doesn t have a scar . The problem I have been having is that periodically the scars on my body seem to bubble up and swell . The one most affected are the deeper one (such as the fissure from a knife on my right arm ) it is extremely uncomfortable and I am wondering what might be causing this to happen.

Hello,

Welcome to the forum.

You need to take care of the deeper wounds. Periodic swelling of your wounds indicate that you have suppressed immune system or are diabetic. It is indicative of infection and inflammation that causes swelling, pus formation and other discomfort like redness, pain, irritation, itching, etc.

You should see a clinician and get clinically examined. You should get blood tests done to rule out STD or any other cause of scar inflammation. You may need antibiotics or injections.

For the deeper cut wound on your rigth arm you should maintain cleanliness. Wash the wound with water or saline, use of hydrogen peroxide locally will be helpful, antibacterial cream, apply neosporin powder or antibacterial ointment bacitracin.

You can see a doc and get proper dressing and bandage done if required. Check your blood sugar levels and get treated. Take care.
