Scan Of Uterus Done. What Are The Recommendations?

1. Interval resection of large cervical cell fibroid. Small
hypodensities in the myometrium are compatible with the small
fibroids with the largest measuring 8 x 7 x 10 mm
2. Suspect small debris-filled partially collapsed a follicle in the
right ovary.
3. Small amount of free fluid in the right adnexa

So, does this mean there is a large cervical fibroid, fibroid outside and inside uterus, cyst present with ruptures likely causing fluid

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Thank you for asking on HCM.
In my opinion you have:
1. Multiple fibroids present in the cervix and the middle muscular layer of the uterus (Myometrium) . The fibroids in the myometrium are small and unlikely to cause any problems.
2. Free fluid in the tissue surrounding the ovary (adenxa) due to infection or the ruptured cyst.

Detailed answer:
1. "Interval resection of large cervical cell fibroid. Small
hypodensities in the myometrium are compatible with the small
fibroid with the largest measuring 8 x 7 x 10 mm" means that you have uterine fibroid and largest one is in the cervical region, the other fibroids are in the middle muscular layer of the uterus. These are small fibroid and unlikely to cause significant problem.

2. "Suspect small debris-filled partially collapsed a follicle in the
right ovary." means that if size of follicle is more than 3 cm it may be a complex cyst in the right ovary. If the size is less than 3 cm it is a collapsed follicle and repeat ultrasound is needed after 6 weeks to assess the progress. If there is increase in size MRI is needed to determine the exact nature of the cyst.

I hope this helps you.
