Scab In The Nose Spreading To Other Nostril, Green Mucus With Blood Traces, Get Faint Vinegar Smell On Breathing. Remedy?

Ive had a scab in my nose for a while. I have been picking my nose and it has gotten worse. It has spread to the other nostril . I have yellow/green mucous when I blow my nose. There is some blood in my mucous due to the fact that the scabs are not healing . I tried putting some vaseline in my nostrils to help the healing process and not touch my nose but I haven t got any relief . Now there is a faint smell sort of like vinegar in my nose when i breath in. What should I do?

Hello and welcome to HCM
The scabs in your nostril are due to frequent picking of the nose. The scabs are formed due to injury to the delicate mucosa of the nose. Due to the injury there is increased mucus discharge in order to protect the mucosa from further damage. The drying of the discharge leads to formation of scab.
Repeated picking of nose removes the scab and thus again an injury-mucus discharge-scab formation-removal of scab and so on. the vicious cycle begins.
In order to overcome this problem you will have to halt your habit of nose picking and try putting some wet gauze pieces in your nostrils for some time to keep the mucosa wet and it will aid in healing too.
The presence of yellow-green discharge point to infection with pseudomonas. Pseudomonas is a bacteria which produces yellow-green colored discharge.

Get the culture sensitivity done and take appropriate antibiotic.
