Runny Nose, Sore Throat With Roof Of Mouth Yellow Is Indication Of Throat Infection?

My throat has been extremely sore all day and is only getting worse. I also feel a stuffy/runny nose coming on. I just noticed that the roof of my mouth is yellow when I was trying to look at my throat. Is this a basic throat infection, and what do I do about it?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms you are suffering from Viral Throat Infection and the runny/stuffy nose and yellow roof of the mouth is due to it only..

Nothing to worry you can take antibiotics like Azithromycin or Augmentin as there might be a secondary bacterial infection along with viral infection..
Take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.
For congestion and stuffy nose you can take oral decongestant like Pseudoephadrine [Sudafed].
Saline nasal sprays can help in thinning the thick mucous in nose and ease draining and clearing congestion.
Do warm saline gargles.
Do steam inhalations.
Avoid spicy and hard foods.
Avoid chilled foods and liquids.
Drink plenty of water..
Take ample of rest..

You will start improving in 3 to 4 days..
