Restricted Blood Flow In Eye. Aneurism On Carotid Artery. Done MRI And Carotid Ultrasound. What Does It Show?

yes i was informed that i have a small aneurism on my left corotid artery,,,,they say they caught it early and it is only about 2mm in size (detected on MRI} approx 2 months ago i had an episode where i lost total vision in my right eye for about 3 hrs,,,no other symptoms however when having this looked into at my eye doc she found by taking a pic that shows behind the eye that there was restricted blood flow and thought perhaps i may have had a mini stroke and hour later i had a doppler corotid artery ultra sound done which came back normal...this is when the MRI was ordered. I will now be seeing a vascular neuro surgeon to discuss treatment....if any is needed i am told this finding does not explain the loss of vision in the right eye and that this is an "incidental finding" Is it possible that an aneurism on the left corotid artery 2mm in size could cause these symptoms on the right side? it seems pretty coincidental for it not to be but would love to hear another opinion! Thank You!

Hi and welcome to Healthcare magic.Thank you for the query.
Carotid obstruction would cause eye disorder in the same side but it could have been just temprary obstruction due to resorbed thrombus or vasoconstriction. Also, there could be some other specific eye disorder, not related to carotid blood flow. YOu just need to take some antiagregatory therapy and do frequent chek uos.
Wish you good health. Regards
