the thoracic spine at t6and t7 what is marginal osteophytes? what does this mean parenchymal opacity prominently in left lower lower with small pleural effusion. it says evidence of parenchymal disease in the left lower lobe of the lung, limited view. What does this mean in a medical , but plain English for my friend.
hello dear thanks for your query at HCM marginal osteophytes means there is small outgrowing of bone from side of the spine that usually not seen . coming to pleral effusiion means collection of some fluid in thin layer of tissue covering like like curtains. these layers are for protecting lung and easy expantion during breathing. effusion means collection between these layer of tissues. parenchymal disease means lung it self is effected. altogther it means lung and layers covering are effcted. it can be due to many reasond but mainly infections. hope this will help you 'regards
