Reoccurring Strep Throat, Bronchitis, Flu. What Could Be This?

I have been sick every month this year with either strep throat, bronchitis or something really bad that resembles the flu to where I am so sick, I cannot get out of bed!! these illnesses have been lasting a week to two weeks in length! All I ever want to do is sleep, even when I am not sick. I have been to an ENT doctor, and they said everything looked absolutely normal??

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I read your query regarding sore throat, flu and bronchitis.

As you said that you had repeated infection as sometimes strep throat infection and some times as flu and some times as bronchitis. you have such infection at present also.

You have been examined by ENT doctor, and he says every thing is ok. here I would like to tell you that you should do these basic investigations-

(a) C.T.scan of paranasal sinuses.

(b) Culture and sensitivity of throat swab.

(c) X-Ray chest (PA view)

(d) Blood - CBC, ESR, Blood sugar ( F & PP )

(e) Urine - Routine and microscopic.

Beside this a thorough examination along with clinical co-relation with relevent investigations will help in reaching to correct diagnosis and that may be accordingly manage.

Regards.
