Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hi...
Thanks for the query..
With chronic use of contact lenses there can be inflammatory reaction, irregular and dry ocular surface which makes your wearing of contact lenses intolerable..
If you had an infection which might have left a scar which also makes the surface irregular.
But in your case I think we are dealing with a CL induced dry eyes..
Keep consulting your doctor.. You have to use plenty of lubricating eye drops.
Your ophthalmologist can prescribe steroids if he/she thinks if they are required.
sometimes you may have to stop using CL's for along time till the eyes become totally clear.
Hope I helped with my answer...Take care...

Ophthalmologist Dr. Khushbu Bhattad's  Response
hello,
contact lens can cause problems like
Allergic conjunctivitis- arises due to sensitivity to thiomersal, a preservative used in CL care solutions. This presents with redness, burning and itching which is worst on lens insertion and reduces over time. this might be in your case.
2)Giant papillary conjunctivitis- arises as a direct consequence of the lens itself and presents as intolerance to the lens associated with irritation and redness of the eye
3) Superficial punctate keratitis (SPK) - this is the most common problem associated with CL wear and may occur as a result of dry eye
other problems like micobial keratitis- i dont think occur in your case

start with refresh tears for dry eyes, and nsaid's drops like olopat
you might be allergic to preservative or contact lens
visit an ophthalmologist and get eye examination done
take care.i hope i answered your query
