Red Spot Under Eye, Tiredness. Treatment Suggestions?

Last night I developed a red/purple spot about the size of a pencil eraser under my inner right eye connected to the tear duct. Nothing was there until i rubbed my eyes and then it appeared. I just returned from a long business trip and am very tired so have been rubbing my eyes. I am 45 yrs. old. Any suggestions on how to treat this? Will it go away on it's own?

Hello,
It seems from the history that you have red spot after rubbing of eyes, this is most probably subconjunctival hemorrhage which is collection of blood under the conjunctiva the white part of the eye.
Though rubbing of eyes may not lead to hemorrhage always, it is more probably seen in diabetics or those with hypertension. Hence I advice you to have consultation with physician to rule out any of the systemic problems like diabetes or hypertension.
Otherwise no need to worry about the eye condition, it will resolve by 2 weeks.
