Red, Extremely Painful Large Swelling In Elbow. Medication?

Hi - my sister - in - law is in China and her friend has a golf - ball sized swelling on her elbow, reddened and extremely painful. She does not know what she scratched it on but noticed a scratch two days ago which has gotten progressively worse. Due to the language barrier they say they can"t get to a clinic or hospital but can walk into a pharmacy close to their hotel and get any antibiotic they want. Can you tell me what her friend should be taking for this, if anything, and the proper dosage?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi ! Most likely she has got a cyst (olecranon bursa) on her elbow which must have been there for a long, but now it got infected due to scratching resulting in pain and discomfort.
It might be an independent entity, a boil, which has become worse with scratching. I would suggest you to her seen by a surgeon there before you jump into self treatment with antibiotics.
Wishing your friend an early recovery.
