Recurring Sudden Dizziness, Profuse Sweating At Night, Nausea, Lighthead. On Medication For Enlarged Prostate, Mild Hypertension. Suggest
I woke up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and as soon as I sat up I became dizzy, I made it to the restroom and while seated I began to sweat profusely - literally dripping off of me. I got up two more times over the next 2 - 3 hours and the dizziness remained and I became nauseated. Until my stomach was completely empty, I had three spells of nausea and dry heaves. It is now late afternoon and am still a bit lightheaded, and I have had fluids and small amount of cereal. gradually feeling better, but lightheaded. I had two other spells in the past 3 months wear I have felt dizzy and began to sweat severely, but they had passed with several minutes. I do take medication for enlarged prostate and for mild hypertension.

I would come up with these possibilities for this episode of excessive sweating , these includes.
1 Postural hypotension ( or Hypertension ) , in these bot conditions patient feels excessive seating and fullness in epigastrium. Diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination as well as blood for lipid profile.
2 Hyper acidity , diagnosis can be confirmed by upper G I endoscopy . Clinical ,history of illness , physical examination also find out the cause.Drugs for enlarged prostate may also develops acute gastritis.
3 Tension ( anxiety ) may be one such reason.
In my opinion consult a physician and get his opinion as mentioned above .
