Recurring sore throat, bumps on the tongue, enlarged taste buds. Reason?
I have had a recurring sore throat for about 2 months now. It comes and goes. I saw my GP about 6 weeks ago and she looked at my throat and said there was nothing wrong, but the sore throat persists. I have now noticed that I have some bumps on the side of my tongue and a few days ago the tastebuds at the back of my tongue became enlarged. I have always had a map tongue, but nothing like this. What could it be?
Hello, Your mouth may be affected by aphthous ulcers which is recurrent in nature. I would advice you to take plenty of fluids and nutritious food. Vitamin becosules,c,iron and folic acid tablets has to be administered. Maintain oral hygiene well. Floss your tongue daily. Gargle frequently using warm saline and betadine solution. Please do visit a dentist for further treatment based on the diagnosis. Take care.
