Recurrent Sore Neck, Body Aches, Headache, Chills And Fever, Constant Sweating And Aching. What Could This Be?

Hello, about two weeks ago I had the symptoms of a sore neck , body aches, headache , and fever . The symptoms only lasted around 3 days and then I felt fine. Yesterday I had the reoccurring symptoms that I has experienced two weeks ago. It started with the soreness of my neck and then soon my body began to ache and I had chills. I did not sleep all night because of the constant sweating and aching. What kind of illness could this be??

Hello there.

The symptoms of fever, malaise, body ache , sore throat and headache are all due to viral infection.Viral illness takes minimum 7 days to resolve.

You can use anti inflammatory like ibuprofen for symptomatic relief of bodyache and fever.

Other measures include:
Drink extra fluids with fresh juices.

Take extra rest and sleep.

Maintain good nutrition
Chicken soup to help break up congestion and provide nutrients to help keep up strength. Also would be easy to digest.

Supplements or products that contain vitamin C like fresh citrus fruits.

Using a vaporizer will also relieve congestion.

Using mentholated ointments on the chest.

Maintain personal hygiene to avoid recurrent infections.

take care.

Hello

Thanks for your query.

Your words suggest you were possibly having viral fever with pharyngitis two weeks ago and similar episode yesterday.Ofcourse there are possibilities of other pathologies too which need clinical evaluation, so go get a medical check up from your doctor.

A throat swab culture sensitivity testing and some blood investigations may be needed for diagnosis.

Do warm saline gurgling four times daily for four days.

Take paracetamol 500mg twice daily for three days and thereafter sos.

Take levocetrizine 5mg tablet at bedtime for three days if you are having symptoms like watering nose.

Take Vit C 500mg tablet once daily for a week.

Hope this helps.

Update here how you stay.

Take care.
