Rectal bleeding, extreme pain during bowel movements and passing gas, diagnosed to be pendacular polyp. Treatment?

I am having rectal bleeding . Every time I pass stool , it pains extremely and after stool comes out, there is dripping of blood . I visited a surgeon who told me i have a pendacular polyp about 5 mm in size which is the probable cause. I also feel as if something is trying to come out when I pass stool and I have to suck it back in. Even passing gas is extremely painful.
