Since you just had a viral illness, it is quite common to have some form of skin rashes associated with these viral illness.
The skin problems can vary from a simple discomfort to gross itching or red rashes or raised skin lesions.
Sometimes even lesions of urticaria can develop.
This seems to be happening in your case leading to the associated discomfort and itching.
You might need a course of oral antihistamines for the same.
See a dermatologist if it persists or increases.
