There can be many causes of dilatation of veins. It is usually the veins of the legs that get dilated. Veins of the anal canal and at the lower end of the food pipe also may get dilated in piles and chronic liver disease respectively. Dilatation of the veins only at the back over the scapula has to be considered to be due to some local factors which may or may not be significant. local factors may be congenital, inflammatory or neoplastic. If a good physical examination and the routine investigations are normal, these venous dilatations are best ignored. There can be many causes of dilatation of veins. The vein on the back of my hand suddenly got cold; very cold as if I was having an IV started. It has persisted for about 45 minutes now and has not subsided. It is only in the vein on the back of the hand and does not radiate into the fingers or the wrist.

I'm having pain in my left side under my rib cage. I thought perhaps i had cracked a rib but now I'm not sure. I had a bronchial type virus about a week ago and had a lot of coughing. That has all stopped. It's tender to touch and if I raise my arms over my head it feels like the skin is pulled tight on the left side and looks like there may be some swelling.

Hi myself arjun. I'm 23 yrs old. I recently had gone to gym. one day when i was coming back i felt a sever pain in between my left upper abdomen and under ribs cage. I consulted a doctor and he gave me some tablets ie, hifenac tablet i guess. At that time i was unable to turn left side to sleep because when i turn left it hurts n i couldnt breath calmly. The doctor said its a sprain and he said if the pain persists i have to take X-ray. Now the pain comes sometimes i'm afraid it could be a heart attack or pneumonia. What can it be?. Kindly answer me. waiting for ur reply. thank you

i am 58 years old, have had head pressure, neck, shoulder , upper back pa in for several years . had 2 injections several years ago which helped some. past few months have had increased pain in neck, shoulders, upper back, burning pain right arm into fiingers. i am also having occasional shooti:ng pain right side of face from ear. had mri with following impression: min posterior spondylitic bar c5/c6 amd c6/c7 with diffuse bulging disc and minimal narrowing of canal and both neural foraminas , moderate on right. elongated inhomogeneous mixed signal, but mostly with bright signal in t2 underneath the right serratus anterior muscle . can you interpret this and tell me if it could be anything serious?
