Reason For Strong Smell Of Barbeque Sauce In Nose?

Hello. Something has been troubling me for a while now. One day I woke up finding a very strong smell of barbercue sauce in my left nose only. It's a little weird.
Since then I have found that in some mornings I have blood coloured mucus only from my left nose and yesterday I had a 2cm long thing out of my nose. It looks dark brown and glossy. I am worried and have no idea what it is.

Hi, thank you for posting at HCM.

I read your query very carefully and I have to say that you suffer from nasal polyp.
Nasal polyps are polypoidal masses arising mainly from the mucous membranes of the nose.
This is an allergic disease.

The diagnosis is determined very simple, you need just a check up by Otolaryngologist.

This polyp is treated by applying Flixonase aqueous nasal spray(Fluticasone propionate 50µg) 2 times a day.

All the best.
Dr. Behar.
