Dear Cheri, The impact of injury causes detachantment of retinal layers which causes flashes in the eye. This injury may also cause detachment of vitreous from oraserata.pain from the eye ball leads to the eye center of brain which is located in occipetal region of the head(back of the head)please consult ophthalomalogist of thorough fundus examination.
