Reason for my high BP

Hi I am 38years old and have been on high blood pressure tablets for nearly 3 months but as yet they have failed to lower my blood pressure. i am only on 25mg a day. Something happend tonight that really worried me. I started to get a pain in my upper stomach area, into my chest and the pain moved up into the bottom of my neck, in my throat. this eased up after less than a minute, then after another 15 to 20 minutes it happened again, but the pain moved into my back as well. which lasted for about 1 minute, then went, then about another 20 minutes later, it happend again but the pain didnt go up my chest or throat but just upper stomach into my back. the pain wasnt as severe as the 2nd time, and lasted half a minute, not im worried it is something to do with my heart. like angina or something like that, or could it be something like trapped wind?or colic of some kind? touch wood i havent had it for about an hour now. this happend about 2 hours after dinner, and all i had was bland food. I worry because my dad died of a massive heart attack at 69 years.and i do tend to worry about it. i have also been having hot sweats on and off for a week or so, but havent had any difficulty breathing. i have also been having a lot of stress recently with all different worries, could this be causing it ? I will be making an appointment tomorrow morning anyway just to be on the safe side. I did phone the nhs helpline but they just refered my call to a dr and he just said phone an ambulance if the pain becomes worse.

It sounds more like your esophagus or stomach acid reflux. I get that same kind of pain and thought it was my heart. I also suffer with very high blood pressure. My father also past away 2 1/2 years ago from a massive heart attack. I even ended up in the ER. My doctor did all kinds of test on me and my heart looked fine they said. So they did an endoscopy to have my Esophagus checked and they told me I have Barrettes Esophagus. And that can cause pain like your going to have a heart attack. May be they should check your Esophagus.

my friend is male, 58 yrs. Had a heart attack 3 yrs ago and had a bypass. He had a mild heart attack last month no bypass.Today at his check up his cardio. dr. said that he has an 80% blockage in 4 artries not counting the ones bypassed 3yrs ago. These blockages are in places where there is a 75% chance that an operation would kill him, according to the dr. The dr said that my friend is a walking time bomb, gave him 6-8 months and added that stress, strain, physcial exertion could cause it to happen quicker.I know diet and exercise are very important in keeping a healthy heart. Is there ANYTHING my friend can do except wait?

Hi, My father is 63 years old. 2 days back he suffered a chest pain for a long time when he was walking for quite sometimes. He did some chest examinations and after he was shown a cardiologist he told that apart from a blockage in heart there is a small miocadial infarction.
I don't stay with him and i really don't know what is the his health condition and what is the immediate doable for him.
He is fine now. Some medicines are given. I don't understand was it a heart attack because the doctor haven't told like that.
I stay in Bangalore and is in Kolkata. Pls suggest the immediate doable and places where treatments would be good.
