Reason For Fresh Rigor Or Fits That Was Seen Only Once During Puberty
My daughter had her first event of rigor or fits when she was 10 plus years old. She experienced it once and then she was fine. Medical checks did not reveal anything abnormal and the doctors attributed it probably to her stage of puberty and the body being taxed by this phase. However, I am now told that she has had 3 more instances of this rigor/ fits of late. Can you advise me what could be the issue and what we should do.
I am so sorry to hear about this fit/rigor that your daughter has. It would be extremely difficult to tell what the cause of this seizure is without a detailed interrogation, examination and at least an EEG. I will suggest that your daughter gets evaluated by a neurologist to establish the cause and provide treatment options to her.
I hope this addresses your query fully. Thank you so much for patronizing our services and please do feel free to ask for follow up clarifications and information if need be. I wish you the best of health. Dr. Ditah, MD.
