Reason For Cracks On Face Ans Swollen Lips After Using Dye?

Hi can you please help me? I have been using just for men beard and moustache dye, also used a few other brands but I am allergic to them, I get cracks on my face and my lips swell, I think because they have PPD and AMMONIA in them, could you please suggest a different substance? I live in London.

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I understand that you are having an allergic contact dermatitis to hair dye.
The substance in the dye causing allergy is called as PPD ( Paraphenyline diamine). Ammonia is generally not responsible for allergic reactions.
Most of the commercially available hair dyes contain PPD. So dermatitis can occur even if you change the brand or use an ammonia free hair dye.
You could try natural plant extract based hair colours which are PPD free. Henna is a popular hair colour used in India. Though it does not give you a jet black color, it does not cross react with PPD.
Another option is a hair colour called as Vegetal. You could try buying it online.
Hope this information helps you.
Take care.
