Rashes On The Penis After Intercourse. Bacterial Infection?

Hi!! Ok so back in 2007 when my hubby and I were both newlyweds we had sex A LOT and sometimes it was while I was dry snd my hubby would get a rash type thing on his penis. He didn't tell me much about it back then. But then I got preg and there was a time we didn't do it as much and it seemed to go away. We just thought it was from friction. So since then I've gotten hmmm hydrocortisone cteam and it seems to take it away but not completely. Well six years later, its still happening and now he's REALLY worrief. I just think its from friction and try to use as much lubricant as I can. Is this a bacterial infection? Should I be worried about an infection?

Hi,

A rash on penis could be for various reasons like an allergic reaction to new soap or lubricant or to kind of of condoms but may also be due to various fungal, viral or bacterial infections. But without proper STD testing, it would be very difficult to determine the cause of such rash.

You said that he had used hydrocortisone cream which has shown slight improvement. Hydrocortisone cream contains a kind of steroid which shows temporary improvement only to some extent whether the cause is allergic or infective in origin. It's long term use is not good and moreover without diagnostic confirmation it's use may mask the actual diagnosis. Please consult a dermatologist for correct diagnosis. Hope it helps.

Take Care!
