Racing Heart Everytime On Smoking Marijuana. Is This Fatal?

Hi. I am 30 years old ,when I was young I used to smoke marijuana often untile one day I smoked and had a panic attack .now everytime I smoke marijuana I have racing heart .i have had every heart test done you can think of and my heart is perfect I am in very great shape .my question? is why does this happening to me now?can this hurt or kill me? Is it ok to smoke once in awhile ?

Hi there ~

I understand your concerns. A racing heart or palpitations is one of the many symptoms different people experience while using marijuana. If you have a pre existing condition that would make palpitations fatal for you it is not good to be using marijuana in any amount. However, using marijuana may also worsen your cardiac condition to the point where you might start to have reactions that will result in your body reacting pathologically to the substance and you could end up doing irreversible damage to your heart and other organs. Please consult a doctor to find the right solution to kick the habit and hopefully get to rehab and to a path of recovery.
