RA Positive, Have Severe Knee Pain. Taking Folitrax, Sazo, Folinext. Is The Treatment Right?
I know an RA positive patient since 1 year. she is taking folitrax 20 mg once a week, sazo-500mg 1-0-1, and folinext everyday except the day folitrax is taken. Right now she has severe pain on her knees. is she on right treatment .She is 40 yrs old. She was fine for sometime when the treatment had strarted but it got worse since 4 months.
Hi Vishal,
Thanks for writing in.
She is currently receiving the right treatment. Rheumatoid arthritis is a disease which has flares and remissions. This means there are times when the symptoms get severe and there are times when symptoms abate.
She would need to speak with her treating physician about the treatment of these flares. Generally, the dose of these drugs is increased during these flares.
She should not increase the dose on her own as these are dangerous drugs with severe side effects. They must always be taken under the supervision of a physician.
