dear jitesh

genetics is one of the factors for cavity and pyorrhea, however it is not the only factor, that means only genetic factor may not cause full blown disease. for example in an given individual who has genetic predisposition to develop pyorrhea (gum disease) , presence of dental plaque triggers the disease process and due to genetic predisposition the disease progresses faster and there may be more complications, however if the plaque is removed regularly and is not allowed to accumulate then disease progress can be prevented or slowed down. same example holds good for cavity too.
people with genetic predisposition should be extra vigilant and take necessary precautions so that disease does not become very severe.
regarding bad smell from mouth, there are various causes for it including pyorrhea. please follow this link http://www.healthcaremagic.com/questions/Have-bad-breath-smelly-nose-Explain-my-problem/305077

do visit a dentist and get examined thoroughly and get the treatment done accordingly.

hope your doubts are clarified

take care

hello and welcome to HCM forum,
I am glad you wrote in, first of all ,i would like to inform you that pyorrhea is a condition where in your gums become weak, inflamed and bleeding from gums occur spontaneously. Also, foul odour(bad breath) is one of the symptoms.
Pyorrhea can be genetic or associated with a medical condition like diabetes, cardiovascular problem, etc. therefore, maintaining oral hygiene is really important.
beside, you should visit your dentist every 6 months for teeth scaling.
When it comes to cavity or caries, it may or may not be due to pyorrhea. therefore maintaining oral hygiene is very important.
do not worry, just brush your teeth twice daily, use a mouthwash twice/day and visit your dentist every 6months,
i hope i answered you query,
i wish you good health.

Hi,
I read your problem. According to your problem, pyorrhea is caused by an attack of bacillus on gums and teeth. it is due to improper brushing habits, poor oral hygiene, improper nutritions and lack of resistance of gums. Sometimes ,it is due to genetic blood disorder. The reason of bad breath is gingivitis( swelling of gums) or periodontitis(inflamation of gums including bone loss) due to pyorrhea.Cavity is also a reason of poor hygeine. If untreated, leading to loosening of teeth. In home remedies, you can chew a very green guava, drink a cup of spinach juice mixed with one cup of carrot juice.Use antiseptic mouthwash to kill germs. If you experience bleeding gums when brushing or flossing, swelling of gums or as if your teeth are loosening, you should contact your dentist to schdule an appointment... Have a nice time... take care

Hi Jitesh,
Pyorrhea is a disease of the gums in which the gums get swollen and pus gets formed resulting in infection and bone loss. This condition has been found commonly in individuals of a family and yes it does seem to have a hereditary component to it but studies are still going on for further confimation. Some people are more prone to caries as their teeth are intrinsically softer compared to others and maybe genetic but it still has to be further researched.
If you keep your teeth clean by going regularily for your dental visits and also get fluoride treatments done if required then caries can be controlled at the initial stages.
For bad breath you need to get deep scaling and polishing done so that the tartar and pus can be removed and your teeth and gums are healthy again. after the cleaning a strong chlorhexdine mouthwash is recommended and that should resolve your problem. Sometimes a non surgical local antibiotic therapy is required which the periodontist can administer (gum surgeon). You also need to do warm saline gargles for the same. All the best.
Regards
