Pricking Pain On Radial Side Of Wrist, Sensitive To Touch. Not Constant, On And Off. What Could This Be?

I have a (more superficial type) pain on the radial side of my wrist . Right over top of the vein that runs over the radial bump. Feels like a hot poker stabbing me and the skin is sensitive to touch. not redness or wrmth to speak of. It has been there for about 17 hours now. Not constant but more on than off. And it also ranges in intensity.
