hi i am alok jee 24 year. i suffering from high blood pressure . my every test is normal ( mri ,color doppler ....). but 2 year ago my b.p was 160/120. i am taking telvas am (40mg) from last 2 year now my b.p is approx normal but doctor suggest to take it continuously. is it have any side effect or not and how much year i need to take it.
Side effects can be seen in any medicine. A medicine is prescribed by your doctor if benefits of the medicine are more than the risks.
Telvas AM contains Telmisartan and Amlodepine.
Side effects include :-
Headache, hypotension, edema in body, bodyaches, fatigue, etc.
Serious side effect of telmisartan includes swelling of throat muscles resulting in respiratory difficulty.
You should consult your doctor and if he thinks continuing of the medicine is beneficial, you should contiue with your medicine.
I would also suggest that you should get yourself investigated for :-
1. Lipid profile.
2. Renal profile.
3. Thyroid profile.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
