Prescribed Metronidazole, Levofloxacin. Have Rashes On Entire Body. Medical Cure For This?

Hi, my granddaughter has been prescribed Metronidazole and Levofloxacin for a sever infection. She has had two doses of the Levofloxacin and two doses of Metronidazole over 24 hours. Two hours ago a rash appeared over her entire body. What is happening? She is feeling fine, has eaten, stomach pain is gone and tooth pain gone and no other signs of discomfort.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
SKin rash could be side effects of Levofloxacin most probably, though Metronidazole can also cause Skin rash. You must consult her Doctor immediately. Your Doctor may decide to stop the medicine, or change the medicine or may continue the medicine under strict supervision, if he feels that Rash could be due to some other co-existing condition. Remember, our decisions are based on weighing the benefits and side effects of the particular medicines.
Take care.
