Prescribed Losar 50 And Losar H. High BP, Migraine, Allergic Asthma. Mode Of Action?

Could you please guide briefly and in a simple manner, the modes of actions of different medications given for hypertension? I would appreciate if you could throw some light on why different patients with the same ailment are given differently acting drugs for hypertension. I am on Losar-50 and LosarH, aged 42, have allergic asthma , migraine , My BP stays in the range of 140-90 but reaces 160-100, when I am mentally stressed. Please advice, if I am on right tracks.

Hi there,

Thanks for your query. I appreciate your curiosity to learn the mechanism of action.

1. Losar H is a combination of an anti-hypertensive drug + mild diuretic.
Losar reduces the blood pressure by dilating the blood vessels--> reduced flow of blood to the heart --> reduced burden on heart.

2. The diuretic reduces the fluid volume, which in turn, reduces the pressure.

3. BP medicine is prescribed after taking into account several factors. For example, in your case, some medicines(like Beta-blockers) are contra-indicated in the presence of allergic asthma.
