Pregnant With Pus Cells In The Urine Test Report. Can Antibiotics Be Taken?
Hi doc... I am 5 months pregnant... 10-15 / HPF pus cells have been noticed in my latest urine culture report... pls inform for the reason of it ??? Is there anything to be worried about it ???
My regular doc has given me some medicines for the same... should I first ask for the antibiotic test and only then take it... or shall I trust her and take the antibiotics... name of the medicine is... NITROFUR SR... twice a day.

After reading your urine report,,you have urinary tract infection(UTI)..presence of 10-15 pus cells in the urine suggests strongly UTI..
Nitro fur is also the treatment of choice for uti,,but it is not the first line management...
Before taking that medicine give your urine for urine culture test..
continue taking the medicine prescribed to you,,
After the commencement of report,,if no changes are present continue the same medicine..
If it says to change the medicine then change the medicine..
After the report commencement consult gynecologist,,
Along with antibiotics take proton pump inhibitors like pantocid to combat gastric irritation caused by antibiotics..
