Pregnant, suffering from throat phlegm, yellow saliva. Used betadine. Safe to use?

i had some phlegm in the morning when i wake up. i would spit yellowish saliva . i bought betadine gargle to ease it. i ve used it for a week or two every morning and/or evening. i made sure i don t swallow it because i am on my third trimester. now i heard that it s not recommended for pregnant women. would that affect my baby? please help.

If your have yellow phlegm you most probably have a chest infection. You will need antibiotics. Betadine gargles wont help much. I would rather you dont use it. Take steam inhalation with menthol instead.But a doctor should listen to your chest and make sure its clear otherwise you will need antibiotics.
