Pregnant, stale taste on pressing tongue against tooth, no pain, had abscessed tooth in the past. Will it affect the baby?

I had an abscessed tooth 2/3 years ago and was given antibiotics to clear the infection but because I m so scared to go back to dentist to have it removed, I ve not been since. I am currently pregnant (29 weeks) and my tooth hasn t been bothering me other than tasting something stale when I press my tongue against the tooth. I am so very scared and will not go to dentist while pregnant, I ll get it out after baby is born. I just want to know if my baby will be ok?

Hi Bertram,
Thanks for posting your query.
The cavity of the tooth if filled with pus, causing inflammation then it should have caused pain which is not the case so I think that is not a source of any important toxins.
I would rather suggest you should keep the teeth clean, brush twice a day and pass floss through the gap there between the cavity teeth.
Do chlorhexidine mouth gargles also if you feel any pain at times.
I hope your query has been answered.
