Pregnant, Shortness Of Breath, Weakness, Pressure In Chest. Advise?

I am inquiring on behalf of my 20 year old daughter. She is pregnant approx 9 wks and said she is experiencing shortness of breath, weakness and some pressure in her chest. I understand she went to the hospital and they tested her lungs on some type of machine and she was released. She tells me that "something was low about my breathing". So I am left to wonder, what does this mean and if I am still unnecessarily worring about her condition? Would they have released her if something more serious is going on? Sorry for my lack of additional facts.

Hi and thanks for the query,
She might deserve some special clinical care. Knowing whether she is experiencing this for the very first time or had it before getting into pregnancy is important. What you describe looks she might be have a chronic obstructive bronchopneumopathy, probably asthma. I suggest she consults her gynecologist and she how a coordinated care plan could be established between her gynecologist and a pulmonologist. A high risk pregnancy specialist or experienced obstetrician could be an ideal gateway to assure an uneventful pregnancy course.
I suggest she consults her obstetrician to discuss how a pulmonologist could be implicated in her antenatal care course.
Thanks and best regards,
Luchuo, MD.
