my 18 year old daughter is 12 weeks pregnant and has had terrible morning sickness to date, even hospitalized for 24 hours due to dehydration . For about a week she started having lower abdominal pains on the left side that isn t terrible but constant. Last week she had an episode where she almost fainted, today she has been vomiting all day and now says she feels really wrong . She is vomiting dark green, dark brown, and says there has even been red chunks . Yet she hasnt eaten since last night.

it seems to be a case of hyperemesis gravidarum(severe vomiting of pregnancy) further complicated with severe gastrites. the mainstay of therapy is fluid management , with each episode of vomtiing there is a lot of fluid and electrolyte loss from the body and hence that has to be managed well. and simultaneously oral or injecatble antacids should be considered
