Pregnant Having Vaginal Bleeding Due To Severe Cough. What To Do?

Hi. I m currently 30 weeks pregnant. I m getting over a cough but the last 2 days I have coughed so hard it s caused vaginal bleeding . The first time it was just a little spotting. Today when I went to the restroom it was quite a bit like the first day of a period. My doctor didn t seem worried about it. How can I ease my mind and not worry??

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Though cough and cold are common infections, they have to be carefully treated in pregnancy as they can lead to complications like spotting as you are having.
Better to use house hold remedies to get relief.

If the spotting persists better to use progesterone supplementation, antibiotic course to prevent miscarriage.
Take care.
