Pregnant Diagnosed With Cervical Polyp. On Pelvic Rest. Should I Be Worried About The Bleeding?

I am 8-9 weeks pregnant and have diagnosed with a small cervical polyp which is causing bright pink -red spotting everyday even though I have been on pelvic rest for the past eight weeks. I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks which did show a healthy heartbeat . It's upsetting to bleed everyday while pregnant. Is it safe to have this open bleeding polyp or should I be worried about infection or bleeding worsening as the pregnancy progresses my family doctor wants to see me again in 4 weeks but should I be seeing a specialist?

Hi,
Thanks for your query.
You should consult with specialists for your problem because cervical polyp may bleed during pregnancy because it may bleed with mild friction also. You should consult a specialist and removed it (cauterization is the method), some polyp may disappear after delivery but some may be cancerous also. So treat it immediately.
Good luck.
take care.
