Pregnant, Back And Stomach Pain, Kidney Stones In X-ray. On Norco. What Now?
My daughter in law is 6 months pregnant and in horrible back and stomach pain. She has been to the ER 3 times now and they told her although they could see any kidney stones in her xrays, she most likely has them. Since then, she has passed 3 of them and is now peeing out alot of mucus . They have given her Norco and they aren t working for her pain which has now become unbearable.
Hi, welcome to HCM.
Renal stone in pregnancy is complicated to manage. It should be diagnosed on ultrasonography before treated as renal calculi. Because there may infrequent uterine contractions which may cause pain. Xrays are not possible in pregnancy.
Also if there is pain on right side , ask your doctor to look for appendicitis. Ultrasonography is investigation of choice in pregnancy. Take a advise from gynaecologist and surgeon for management of this condition.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
