Pregnant and miserably constipated, what can I do ?

I am 8.5 weeks pregnant, and am having major issues with constipation. I have had 2 bowel movements in the last 3 weeks.. they were 6 days apart and now i am on day 10 since the last BM. I am taking a stool softener(colace) and have started a probiotic (phillips colon health)... I am miserable. I have been taking as much liquid as possible and fiber as well, but alot of it wont stay down. HELP ME. what can i do?

Constipation is a common problem in pregnancy for which you should take plenty of fruits rich in fibre and juice like papaya watermelons also cucumber and salad and green leafy vegetables especially spinach plenty of fluids and water are really helpful. But in case of no relief you can take stool softener on sos basis In case of hard stools take sitz baths (sitting in lukewarm water for about 30 mts 3-4 times aday )and consult your doctor sos if enema and lcal steroidal creams required take care
